Destination Overdue
Jumping around on the inside
Can’t settle his thoughts though he has tried
So he runs harder than ever before
He picks up the pieces in his quick stride
But as nothing fits, nothing seems right
There’s no where to start and no where to go
He needs some connection
A certain confluence of truth
Something to stand on
Something to provide a greater view
Of what life’s worth living for
A destination overdue
Together and polished on the outside
Broken and scattered on the inside
To placate the pain, cling to facade
Keep with the flow of this big tide
Stay on the surface and you will find
Everything moves but nothing remains
To break fragmented life required a brilliant light
A draw for every human heart to see
What gives such unity, Christ Jesus it is he
The way, the truth, the life for all to see
He is the connection
The certain confluence of truth
The one we can stand on
The one to provide a greater view
Of what life’s worth living for
The destination overdue
